What is Pantone?
Definition : Pantone is the authoritative color standard system in the United States, providing universal color numbering and formula to ensure the accurate consistency of color in different materials and media.
Pantone Matching System (PMS, Pantone Matching System) : A library of color cards designed for printing and packaging (such as Pantone C/U color cards, C for coated paper, U for offset paper).
Pantone Libraries : Color standards covering textile (TCX/TPX), plastics, digital color (RGB/HEX) and other fields.
Core Features
Standardization : Each color has a unique number (such as **Pantone 186C) to avoid “color difference” disputes.
Cross-media adaptation : Color solutions for different materials (e.g. ink, fabric, plastic).
Spot color printing : Pantone color is premixed ink, more vivid and accurate than CMYK four-color overlay (such as fluorescent color, metallic color).
How to use Pantone color?
Design Phase :Select colors using the Pantone color Library in the Pantone color card or design software such as Adobe PS/AI.
Production stage :Provide the Pantone number to the printing house, and the manufacturer mixes the spot color ink according to the formula.
Note :Different materials (paper/cloth/plastic) of the same pantone number may have visual differences, need to select the corresponding color card.
